Make headings carry meaning

A heading is a signpost. Choose words that help a reader predict the section below it. Overview can be useful; important things usually says very little.

Scan only the headings of a document. If they tell a coherent story, the full text will be easier to navigate. If they do not, improve the structure before polishing individual sentences.
